Baby root canal & crowns
When deep decay or a fall reaches the nerve of a milk tooth, a baby root canal (pulpectomy) clears the infection and saves the tooth. It usually takes a few minutes and is done in a single visit. A stainless steel or tooth-coloured crown then protects the tooth so your child can chew normally.
Signs to watch for: toothache, red or swollen gum near a tooth, pain while eating.
